| MEET ALEX DONNER | ||||
|
Alex
Donner is the youngest of a small coterie of America's most popular bandleaders.
Fifteen years ago he left a successful Matrimonial Law practice
to devote himself to his first love - performing with a Band. As Alex
puts it, "weddings are a LOT more fun than divorces."
A native New Yorker, the personable Donner counts some of America's most prominent families as forebearers, including the Boston Cushings and the New York Brokaws, and is a cousin of President Bush. He was educated at Buckley, Andover, Princeton, the Sorbonne, and Fordham Law School. Today he performs with his own Orchestra 100 times per year from Coast to Coast. And oversees an Organization that books Entertainment for another 200 events per year. Recent years have seen Donner come into his own as a singer. His 1999 Cabaret act at the Algonquin received critical raves and was extended twice by popular demand. 2001 brought "White Tie" and "Black Tie Blues", the CDs which sold 2,000 copies within two months of release and continues to garner radio play. As the Pittsburgh Tribune recently opined, "The piece de resistance - hands down - was dancing to the irresistible sound of the Alex Donner Orchestra. The silken voiced Donner kept the dance floor swinging 'til the wee hours." |
